When we used to live in East London, it was within the village of Shoreditch and many a night was spent walking the streets and lanes visiting the restaurants and bars within Hoxton Square.
It was the time when this area was still very gritty and very disorderly but this village was already the home to such emerging underground creatives as artist Tracey Emin and the late fashion designer and couturier Alexander McQueen, amongst others. Liam Gallagher and Patsy Kensit featured on the cover of US Vanity Fair and it was declared the era of 'Cool Britannia'.
It is with these memories of walking the streets of London in 1997, head always looking up at architecture or down at the cobbled streets, that has inspired this achingly cool textured grey wool design selection.
A gorgeous high/low wool design featuring timeless diamond pattern in raised tufted wool upon a woven handloom base. The wool tufted design can sit flat so will not interfere with balance of coffee tables or chair legs.
Slightly cutting edge, slightly classic, achingly cool to look at yet warm within....just like Hoxton Square.
